Poetry

Did you know that there are more then 10 kinds of poetry? Here are the rules of three kinds of poetry I know:

  1. Haikus need three lines. Line 1 needs 5 syllables, line 2 needs 7 syllables, and line three needs 5 syllables. No more, no less.
  2. Limericks need 5 lines. Line 1 & 2 need to rhythm in one way, line 3 & 4 need to rhythm in another way, and line 5 needs to rhythm like 1 &2.
  3. Free verses can be as long as you want it to be. Each free verse needs a title right? Well, put one. The poet decides how many lines to skip, and how many lines are in their stanzas.

So, there's your three kinds of poety, folks.
